3 SIMPLE STEPS TO MASTER THE SCHOOL LAUNDRY

The return to school and the kid’s afternoon activities increase the volume of our laundry demands significantly. Throw in multiple family members, a wild variety of stains and short deadlines, and the laundry can very quickly descend into stress-filled chaos.

To keep the stress out of your laundry routine, follow our simple 3-step guide to mastery:

1. Keep your machine clean.

A clean machine not only saves your laundry from picking up dirty residues, but it can also improve the overall performance of your machine, which saves you money on running costs. Not only that, but it can even extend the life of your machine as well. 

As a general guide, we recommend using our Maxim Machine Descaler once every 3 months for general machine maintenance. This will ensure optimum wash performance and keep your machine in top working order. 

2. Sort your fabrics.

We recommend having a ‘dirty laundry’ hamper for the following wash categories: Colours, Whites, Delicates and Towels. 

Label the baskets and teach all members of the household to place the correct items into the correct basket. You’ll find that you save a lot of time in the laundry having everything pre-sorted. 

Don’t forget that delicate fabrics such as silks, lace and underwear should be placed into a wash bag before going into the wash. Turn any garments with delicate printing or embellishments inside out prior to washing to retain top condition.

*Pro Tip: for those with multiple kids at school and/or in sport, keep a small ‘priority’ basket for uniforms and other items that are circulated frequently. This will save you from that last-minute panic of dragging a forgotten uniform out of the dirty basket and it will help to ensure that the contents of this basket is always washed ahead of time as well.

3. Treat Stains Correctly.

To ensure that you get perfect wash results with no fuss, we’ve compiled a quick stain treatment guide:

Light Staining: Simply spray affected areas thoroughly with Tri Nature’s Enhance Pre Wash Spray. Leave sit for 2 minutes. Add to wash as per normal using Tri Nature Laundry Powder.

Heavy Staining or Brightening Whites: For heavier staining that requires further treatment, we recommend using our Alpha Plus Pre-Wash Soaker. Reference the below table:

BOOST your wash results:

• To retain vibrant colours and brighter whites, simply add 1 scoop of Tri Nature’s Alpha Plus Pre Wash Soaker into your machine dispenser alongside your laundry powder before commencing your normal wash cycle. 

• For an extra touch of luxury and softness, simply add 2 pumps of Tri Nature’s Angelica Fabric Softener into your machine’s dispenser before commencing your normal wash cycle.
